Furthermore, for investments of NZD 10 million (around USD 7.2 million) or more, investors can obtain a visa by residing in New Zealand for just 105 days over five years.
Immigration Minister Erica Stanford explained that the previous long-term residency requirements were seen as unappealing by some foreign investors. She expressed hope that the regulatory changes would increase interest from international investors in New Zealand.
New Zealand has long used its ‘Golden Visa’ program to attract wealthy foreign investors.
